subject: Thank you for your music

Dear Mr Lynch,
I just wanted to send you a note to thank you for the peace and harmony your music brings to my mind. The world we live in gives us a overwhelming mixture of experiences and it is often far too easy to take the good ones for granted and focus on the bad. Your music helps remind me that there is far more beauty and wonder in the world than there is pain and despair. It provides inspiration for my mind while it heals my soul.

subject: Ray is awesome

I first heard of your music while visiting a friend. Her brother, an avid rap listener, came home from a trip to Florida with DEEP BREAKFAST. He was listening to it on their stereo in the basement, and was playing it so loud that we could hear it perfectly fine at the opposite end of the house on the first floor. I loved Celestial Soda Pop and the rest. I looked all over central Wisconsin to find the CD but, as we are rather uncultured and differentiating from the norm is unfathomable, your CD was rather impossible to come by. I had to make a pilgrimage to Door County Sounds, a music store in Sister Bay, WI, that specializes in any type of "nonconformist" music. After searching for about 6 months I FINALLY had your CD. It's awesome and I love it. Now I'm working on finding the others...

Dear Ray, I have been listening to your wonderful music for years..I just got the new CD and love it. My favorite piece is still "The Vanished Gardens of Cordoba"; it still gets to me. Your music is very relaxing and very poignant. Thank you for some of the most beautiful music I have ever heard. God Bless You.

Love your music Ray. I like the emotion, the structure. I'm usually a bit taller after listening to one of your compositions, or more relaxed, or in a better mood, in one way or another, my day always seems a little better with Ray Lynch's music in it. (If I wore a hat I would say) Hats off to you (and I only hope you are able to keep on doing...........for a very, very long time. Regard...Gary Sullivan

I absolutely love Ray's music. My father started me into it a long time ago. I have no blue thing, it's one of my favorites. I know I must go out and buy the new one!
This music does something to me. It helps me let out bottled emotions the way nothing else can. I have cried and danced to it. It helps me think clearly, and also helps me sleep like nothing else. Keep it up Ray!! I know this must be weird coming from a teenager, but every word is true.

Ray - I've been listener of your music since 1988, and have enjoyed every minute. The two new tracks on the 'Best Of..' CD are superior. For people reading the guestbook here, please go buy Mr. Lynch's music. You will not be disappointed I promise. Ray is the consummate craftsman of his work. He even goes through the trouble of remastering perovious work that already stands alone as superb. If you are not sure, just buy the 'Best Of...' CD. This will give you the best sample. I'm certain at this point you will be hooked, and will go out to buy the rest. Again, Ray, thank you so much for the inspiration and beautiful music that helps me through some of the toughest days.

subject: Greetings.

I first heard you music on "Music from the Hearts of Space".
This was many years ago and your album was not available
in Salt Lake City... Or so it seemed. I was working for public
radio in there (KUER) and someone brought "The Sky of Mind"
in" for the weekend latenight jazz program. This show made a
habit of playing stuff from such labels as Windham Hill and
the like. The Phones went Crazy! I went Crazy!
Later I managed to buy a copy of Deep Breaksfast along
with my first CD player and had what I can only describe
as a trasncendental experience listening to "The Oh of
Pleasure." It was almost religious. It had never happened to me
before. Active Listening? Attentive listening? I grew up with
classical music, and never before had a been able to hear
and *see* the individual threads in the music as they danced
and wove themselves into the whole as I sat on the floor, eyes
closed and ears open.
This may sound like a lot to put on you. But you have a
gift. Its hard to be humble when you are that talented. But keep
playing. Your Art is special and an inspiration to other artists.
PS: DONT play live concerts if you can help it.

I bought my first Ray Lynch Album in Oct'97. True, we are far behind in S.A.
I must say it is the most "spiritually" uplifting music I've ever listened to. Now I've got all your albums and I'm
selling them also.

I purchased Deep Breakfast, my first Ray Lynch recording about 8 yrs ago,
I was only 8 or 9. I loved the sounds, but I lost the tape. All the time could hear
the music just as clear as if it was playing right before me. I do have the new Best Of CD, and
love the Celestial remix.

I first encountered The Sky Of Mind when it was released on cassette and bought it on spec, later to be delighted that for once, I had found a rare talent. Here was instrumental music that you could put on in the background or REALLY sit and listen to.
When I later discovered Deep Breakfast on vinyl, I was stunned and amazed to discover how the music could be so much the same and yet so very different. This album continues to be my personal favourite perhaps because although it covers the whole spectrum of emotions, playing it always puts me in a very happy frame of mind.
Not surprisingly each new CD has joined the collection as soon as I have found it. It is a pleasure to have music that, no matter how long it is between plays, always sounds fresh and rewarding.
I was unaware of the new Best Of release until I found this web site this evening so I guess this weekend will find me scouring my usual CD sources for a copy.

Ray,
I would like to thank you for your devotion to your music and your continuing to share it with us..

I was initially was a big fan of DEEP BREAKFAST, but I've moved on and grown into the music that touches me more deeply.…. That is the artistry in NOTHING ABOVE MY SHOULDERS BUT THE EVENING..

I am greatly moved by the fabric that you weave and colors you paint.

My life as an Engineer is havoc on the mind, and by escaping to the world of your music is my mental hygiene.

I've tried to share your art with others, but have not received many receptive ears. As you have stated, one must listen with an active attention and remove the distracting frontal lobe. This requires listening with the emotions and the soul, not just the ears..

And you are correct, the proper way to replay the music is CLEAN and LOUD. Otherwise you might miss something.

Thanks again,
Craig Allen

P.S. I am pleased that you have re-mastered some of the older work, as it should sound much cleaner when replayed properly..

subject: SURPRISE!!!!!!!!

Gotcha!

Dear Ray,

I bought your latest CD a few weeks ago, because I'd
seen you mentioned, and read your moving foreword in the astounding book 'The Method of the Siddhas' by Adi Da Samraj.

I had a little bit of a difficult time judging whether I really liked your music, because I really like the book in which you were mentioned, and the author of that book!! Besides, I am not very fond of 'light' and 'electronic' sounds like the synth, and prefer 'heavy and stark' music on wood and steel instruments.

I feel, having listened to your record for about 10 times now, that your music is very good indeed. There are a few things about your music that came across as special to me: firstly, there's a quality in it that cannot really be 'grasped', but, instead, 'allowed' as feeling (I can't explain better). Second, it is very emotional. Third, yours is the first music that I've heard in which I actually could relate sounds to 'touch'; especially the myriad tiny sounds you use for rhythm and counterpoint.

I guess I'm writing a hell of a lot here, but I'll finish up soon: I normally associate color with sound. Although you may possibly do so with different ones, I thought it might amuse you if I told you that I see some sky-blue colored music in No Blue Thing (which I heard in the Best Of album)!!

I am growing to love your music more and more every day I listen to it. I think The True Spirit of Mom and Dad is an absolute masterpiece: the crescendo on the violin gets me!!; many tunes, especially this one, belong to the 'I wish I'd composed that, then I'd be playing emotionally to this audience impressing those beautiful girls in the front row and bowing modestly to thunderous applause... ' class.

Sorry for the long letter; I wanted to write a lot more, but I guess I should stop!!

Best wishes, and may you always feel inspired,

Anonymous

P.S. Oh, and I LOVE the music of songs #2, #4-#10 in your Best Of album. And I think the violin solo in 'The Music of What Happens' is fantastic.

This music was the first type of music that really got me interested in New Age music. I really enjoy listening to all of the details as individuals and how each one of them make the whole score beautiful. I love to just sit back and listen to this music and let all of my problems just float away! Thanks Ray for creating such beautiful, soothing, and dynamic music. I will listen to it for the rest of my life!

Ray Lynch's music is also very sensual. I don't know how many evening I have spent with the music of Ray Lynch driving the mood. I absolutely love your music and it was the first New Age music I had been introduced to. I always start off new listeners with Ray Lynch's music. As a note... try out these other two artists I have listed: David Arkenstone & Loreena McKennitt. Have a great day and any concert information would be tremendously appreciated.

I have just received from CD World a copy of your latest CD... Best Of.
It literally took my breath away; my wife and I must have played it thirty (30)
times in the past few days and both of us seem to "feel" the influence that your
Spiritual Master has had on your music. I intend to follow up on this, and also to purchase
your previous 4 CD's.
Truly inspirational music.

Kindest Regards,
